Ullanlinna

Ullanlinna is one of Helsinki's most distinguished residential districts, set on the southern peninsula alongside Eira and Kaivopuisto. It is celebrated for elegant Art Nouveau architecture, tree-lined streets and stunning Baltic Sea views, with the famously photogenic, pastel-coloured Huvilakatu often called the city's most beautiful street. Embassies, consulates and luxury apartments share the area with cultural landmarks including the Design Museum, the Museum of Finnish Architecture, the Engel-designed Observatory and the neo-Gothic St. John's Church. Daily life is upscale and quiet, centred on seafront strolls and jogs, sea-view cafes and the adjacent Kaivopuisto Park, which hosts summer concerts and becomes a beloved sledding hill in winter. Refined Finnish restaurants and designer boutiques serve a well-heeled residential community. Some find it expensive and a touch too quiet for vibrant street life, but waterfront views and historic architecture keep it among Helsinki's most expensive and stable property markets.
